History

Miller Excavating, Inc. began operating in Bayport, MN in 1957. Since 1960, the company has been located in Baytown Township just south of Stillwater in the St. Croix River Valley. The main office and aggregate processing and recycling operations are now located at 3741 Stagecoach Trail North. Approximately 30 to 40 full-time and seasonal employees work in the service divisions. The business has remained a family held company.

Peter and Marilyn Miller, founders, transferred ownership in 2016 to grandsons, Steve and Scott St. Claire, who have grown up in the business and pursued degrees in business, construction, and post-graduate and CE learning in construction methods and computer estimating technologies.
